Aleksandrov agar plate (AKP) is a special solid medium for screening phosphorus-solubilizing microorganisms in soil. Its basic components are insoluble phosphate (such as tricalcium phosphate) and glucose, and the key additive is bromocresol purple indicator. This culture medium can screen microorganisms that can secrete organic acids through insoluble phosphorus sources, and transparent hydrolysis circles are formed around positive colonies, accompanied by a decrease in pH (yellow), which is an important tool for the research and development of agricultural microbial fertilizers.
