CaS medium

CaS medium is a solid medium for selective separation of Streptomyces. Its basic components are glycerol and asparagine, and its key additives are arginine and trace element solution. This culture medium can promote Streptomyces to form typical aerial hyphae and pigments through specific combination of carbon and nitrogen sources and alkaline pH conditions, and inhibit some miscellaneous bacteria at the same time. It is a standard tool for the development of actinomycetes resources.
