LBS broth

LBS broth is a liquid medium for selective enrichment of Lactobacillus. Its basic components are peptone and beef extract powder, the key additive is sodium acetate to maintain acidic environment, and Tween 80 is used as emulsifier. The culture medium can promote the dominant growth of lactobacillus and inhibit miscellaneous bacteria through low pH conditions and specific growth factors, and is a standard tool for the detection of lactic acid bacteria in fermented foods and probiotic products.
