PC chromogenic reagent is a special staining reagent for detecting microbial phosphatase activity. Its main components are naphthalene phosphate and fast blue B salt. Through the principle of enzymatic reaction, phosphatase can hydrolyze naphthalene phosphate to release naphthol, which is coupled with diazonium salt to form purple precipitate. When the chromogenic reagent is used in phosphatase detection culture medium, purple halo will appear around positive colonies, which is widely used in the fields of environmental microbiology and food hygiene detection.
