Mercaptoacetate medium

Thioacetate culture medium is a liquid culture medium for microbial sterility test. Its basic components are casein trypsin digest and yeast extract, and the key additives are sodium thioglycolate and L- cystine to reduce redox potential. By forming an oxygen gradient, this culture medium supports the growth of aerobic bacteria in the surface layer and anaerobic bacteria in the deep layer, and is a standard tool for sterility inspection of drugs and biological products.
