Methanobacterium culture medium is a liquid culture medium for selective culture of methanogenic archaea. Its basic components are inorganic salts and sodium bicarbonate, and the key additives are hydrogen/carbon dioxide or formate as substrates. Through strict anaerobic conditions and specific methanogenic substrates, this culture medium supports methanobacteria to convert simple carbon sources into methane, and is a special tool for methanogenic bacteria research in anaerobic environment.
