High-salt Charcot solid medium
High-salt Chagall solid medium is a solid medium for selective separation of salt-tolerant fungi. The basic components of sodium nitrate and sucrose provide nitrogen and carbon sources, and the key additive is high concentration sodium chloride (usually 15-20%) to create a hypertonic environment. The culture medium can inhibit the growth of non-salt-tolerant microorganisms under high salt conditions, and support halophilic or salt-tolerant fungi to form typical colonies. It is a special tool for isolation and identification of fungi in pickled food, seafood and high salt environment.
