Pea Bromocresol Purple Broth (PE-2) is a liquid culture medium for detecting psychrophilic microorganisms. Its basic components are pea extract powder and peptone, which provide special nutrition for the growth of low-temperature microorganisms. The key additive is bromocresol violet as acid-base indicator. This culture medium promotes the metabolic activity of psychrophilic bacteria through low-temperature culture (such as 6.5℃), and turns the culture medium yellow by fermenting sugar, so it is a special tool for detecting psychrophilic bacteria in dairy products and frozen foods.
