This culture medium supports halophilic desulfurization vibrio to reduce sulfate to hydrogen sulfide and form black precipitate under specific salinity and anaerobic conditions, and is a standard tool for detecting sulfate-reducing bacteria in high-salt environments (such as salt fields and pickled products).
