R2 YE medium

R2A YE medium is a low-nutrient solid medium for counting heterotrophic bacteria in drinking water and environmental samples. Its basic components are yeast soaking and acid hydrolysis of casein, and the key additives are sodium pyruvate and starch to promote the recovery of damaged bacteria. The culture medium supports the growth and colony formation of damaged microorganisms in water through oligotrophic conditions and resuscitation promoters, and is a standard tool for water quality hygiene inspection and environmental microbial monitoring.
