Enhanced Clostridium agar

Enhanced Clostridium agar is a solid medium for selective separation and enumeration of Clostridium. The basic ingredients are peptone and beef extract powder, and the key additives are D- cycloserine and yolk emulsion. This culture medium inhibits miscellaneous bacteria by antibiotics, and detects the activities of lecithin and lipase by yolk reaction. It is typically used to detect pathogenic Clostridium perfringens in food, clinical and environmental samples, and is a standard tool for anaerobic microbiological examination.
