Enhanced Clostridium Broth is a liquid culture medium for selective enrichment of Clostridium. Its basic components are peptone and beef extract powder, the key additive is sodium thioglycolate to reduce redox potential, and D- cycloserine inhibits miscellaneous bacteria. This culture medium can promote the proliferation of Clostridium and inhibit the growth of aerobic bacteria through anaerobic conditions and selective inhibitors. It is a standard tool for the detection of Clostridium in wound specimens, food and environmental samples.
