PPLO Broth

PPLO broth is a liquid culture medium for the separation and proliferation of mycoplasma. Its basic components are bovine heart extract and peptone, the key additives are horse serum to provide sterols, and yeast extract to supplement growth factors. This culture medium supports the metabolic activity of mycoplasma, combined with phenol red indicator, it can show the pH change caused by glucose fermentation or arginine hydrolysis, and it is a standard tool for mycoplasma culture and identification in clinical samples and environmental samples.
