Clostridium oxfordii fresh water medium is a liquid medium for selective culture of Clostridium oxfordii in fresh water environment. The basic ingredients are peptone and beef extract powder, and the key additives are aescin and ammonium ferric citrate. This culture medium can promote the growth of Clostridium australis under anaerobic conditions, and it can hydrolyze aescin to produce black precipitate.
