Lactobacillus maintenance medium is a special semi-solid medium for long-term preservation of lactic acid bacteria. Its basic components are peptone and yeast extract powder, the key additive is sodium acetate to maintain acidic environment, and low concentration agar (0.5-0.7%) forms semi-solid matrix.
