TMA mineral medium is a synthetic liquid medium for selective culture of methylotrophic bacteria. Its basic component is inorganic salt solution, and the key additive is trimethylamine (TMA) as the only carbon source and energy source. This culture medium can screen methylotrophic bacteria that can metabolize trimethylamine through volatile alkylamine substrates, and it is an important tool for studying carbon and nitrogen cycle of microorganisms in marine and saline-alkali environment.
