SN medium

SN medium is a solid medium for selective separation of soil actinomycetes. Its basic components are glycerol and asparagine, and its key additives are potassium dichromate and cycloheximide to inhibit fungi and bacteria. This culture medium promotes actinomycetes to form typical aerial hyphae and spore chains through specific carbon-nitrogen ratio and selective inhibitors, and is a standard tool for screening antibiotic-producing bacteria.
