MMB medium

MMB medium is a liquid medium for selective culture of marine methylotrophic bacteria. Its basic components are artificial seawater and phosphate buffer, and the key additives are single carbon compounds (such as methanol and methylamine) as the only carbon source. This culture medium is a special tool for the study of marine carbon cycle microorganisms by screening marine methyl trophic bacteria that can utilize one carbon substance through specific methyl compound substrates.
