YM agar and 700g sucrose

YM agar with 700g/L sucrose is a solid medium for screening microorganisms in hypertonic environment. Its basic components are yeast extract powder and malt extract powder, and the key additive is ultra-high concentration sucrose to create osmotic pressure above 0.2Mpa. The culture medium is a special tool for screening osmophilic yeast and studying food preservatives by screening high-sugar tolerant microorganisms under extremely hypertonic conditions and delaying the dehydration of the culture medium by using the water-retaining effect of sucrose.
