Its basic components are peptone and beef extract powder, the key additive is glycerol as the only carbon source, and bromocresol purple as the acid-base indicator. This culture medium is a standard tool for microbial carbon source utilization spectrum analysis, which can screen microorganisms that can utilize glycerol through glycerol substrate, and the periphery of positive colonies is yellow due to acid production.
