CP medium

CP medium is a solid medium for selective separation of lactic acid bacteria. Its basic components are peptone and yeast extract powder, the key additives are sodium acetate to maintain acidic environment and manganese sulfate to promote growth. The culture medium supports the formation of typical colonies of lactic acid bacteria through low pH conditions and specific ion combinations, and is a standard tool for the separation and counting of lactic acid bacteria in dairy products and fermented foods.
