Enterobacter culture medium is a solid culture medium for selective separation of Enterobacteriaceae bacteria. Its basic components are peptone and lactose, and its key additives are bile salt and neutral red indicator. This culture medium inhibits Gram-positive bacteria through bile salts, and lactose fermentation and neutral red reaction make coliform bacteria appear red colonies, while non-fermented bacteria are colorless and transparent colonies, so it is a standard tool for food and water quality hygiene inspection.
