△MID1 Yeast strain
△MID1 Yeast strain
△MID1 is a genetically engineered strain of Saccharomyces cerevisiae used to study calcium signal transduction and maintain cell integrity. The strain deleted the MID1 gene by gene knockout technology, which encoded a calcium channel component located in the endoplasmic reticulum and participated in the regulation of extracellular calcium influx. Its deletion leads to abnormal calcium signal response of yeast cells in response to various stresses (such as cell wall damage and hypertonic pressure), and shows high sensitivity to calcium chelating agent EGTA. This strain is an important model for studying calcium signaling pathway, cell wall integrity and mechanical sensitive channel function.
