Ubi-Rubisco small subunit-mCherry is a transient overexpression vector designed for gene function analysis in monocotyledonous plants; it contains the maize ubiquitin-1 (Ubi) promoter (including an intron) and an N-terminal mCherry tag. Due to its compact size, this vector is suitable for the transient expression of target proteins in monocotyledonous plant protoplasts to study the subcellular localization or co-localization of these proteins.
